The Hanover metropolitan region lies in the heart of Germany and is a central hub for business, science, and culture. With over 3.8 million inhabitants, the region spans Lower Saxony and combines urban centers such as Hannover, Braunschweig, and Wolfsburg with rural areas. It is an important hub for logistics and mobility and is known for its leading role in the automotive industry, agricultural technology, and services. At the same time, the region offers a high quality of life, cultural diversity, and innovative dynamism.

Sustainable development in the Hanover metropolitan region is based on close cooperation between business, science, and society. The region is home to renowned universities and research institutions such as Leibniz University Hanover and the Fraunhofer Institute, which actively contribute to the development of new technologies and sustainable solutions. The business sector benefits from this expertise through the direct transfer of research results into practice, for example in hydrogen technology, smart cities, and circular economy. At the same time, involving society enables the development of concepts that are socially just and environmentally sustainable.

An example of this cooperation is the promotion of sustainable mobility, such as projects in electromobility, the expansion of public transport, and the use of renewable energy. The region also demonstrates its innovative strength in agriculture by combining high-tech solutions with sustainable resource use. Such collaborations create synergies that strengthen both the competitiveness of individual actors and the attractiveness of the entire region.

The Hanover metropolitan region is a vivid example of how future-proof structures can be created through collaboration between business, science, and society.
